Look: Chanel Mystic Eyes Quad with Guerlain Lips

I needed to do something quick before we went to our weekly bowling leage (yes, I’m on a bowling league with my hubby, but it’s not as bad as you think hehe). Quads are simple for me. I really like how easy they are because the four colors I’m going to use are all laid out for me – no hassle of picking out colors and finding them, etc.

Sadly, this particular quad doesn’t impress me like the Beiges de Chanel Quad did/does (I’m still loving it everytime I use it!). The Mystic Eyes Quad just came out with Chanel’s Bohemian launch for Spring 2009, and I picked it up at Nordstrom just before Christmas. For some reason it struck me as purple-ish when I first saw it. But it really looks kinda muted gray and brown on me, so I added a brighter purple liner to try to make the color pop and stand out a little more. The center lid color being brown kills the overall look IMO and I wish the crease color were more purple. So after using it twice now, I’m still undecided whether or not I’ll keep it or put it in the return to Nordstrom bag (don’t worry – I hardly EVER return things, and if I do it’s always for good reason). Let me know what you think of it! Perhaps you can sway my decision :-)

For this look I used:

  • Eyes: UDPP as a primer and Painterly Paint Pot as a base, Chanel Mystic Eyes Quad (Lower Left color for inner corner and lid, Lower Right color for middle and outer-upper lid, Top Left color to darken the crease, and Top Right color for the upper lid/brow highlight), Bobbi Brown Violet Shimmer Ink to line the upper lashline, UD 24/7 Eyeliner Pencil in Lust on lower lashline and waterline, and BE Buxom Lash Mascara
  • Cheeks: Stark Naked Beauty Powder Blush
  • Lips: Guerlain KissKiss Maxi Shine Lipstick in Purple Shine topped with Guerlain KissKiss Gloss in Figue Plaisir 866

(Yes, I’m in the car taking these pictures on the way to bowling :-) and NO, I’m not the one driving!)
