Tutorial: Depotting UDPP

If you have UDPP (Urban Decay Primer Potion) in original or Sin, and you haven’t “depotted” it, then you must follow these steps! You’re missing out on at least, AT LEAST half of the product inside if you chuck it after nothing else comes off the wand. The whole process takes about 10 minutes. Good luck!

See step-by-step pictures and directions!  how-to-depot-udpp-tutorial-pics-2Start out with your UDPP, a steak knife, a pot to put the product in (I use the clear MAC ones) and possibly a spatula to scrape out the excess with (the wand from the UDPP could be used instead), and a cutting board.

how-to-depot-udpp-tutorial-pics-4Cut into the bottle at the thickest part (the bulbus (hehe funny word!)). It takes some elbow grease! You don’t need to cut all the way through – rotate it a little and make sure you leave a little attached because it’s easier to manuver.

how-to-depot-udpp-tutorial-pics-6Scoop out as much as you can and scrape it into the empty pots.

how-to-depot-udpp-tutorial-pics-7After you’ve scooped out as much as possible, cut off the bottom part.

how-to-depot-udpp-tutorial-pics-8Still even more product!!!

how-to-depot-udpp-tutorial-pics-9Scrape out everything you can into the jar!

how-to-depot-udpp-tutorial-pics-11Look, it’s full!!! Amaaaaazing! :-)

Voila! Let me know if you have any questions! :-)

You should – seriously, 10 minutes for several more months worth of product!

I did this with my regular UDPP and it somewhat dried up. Didn’t work as well depotted. Have you experienced this after depotting?

    Heather Reply:

The last time I depotted, it was after I had used up everything I could from in the bottle. The rest that I scraped out was kinda thick anyway, but I really like it that way. I just recently depotted a brand new one and it’s much thinner and more watery, which I actually don’t like. I’m hoping it dries out a little, but so far (a few weeks) it hasn’t changed. What do you store yours in?

Thanks, I had heard of this and was just coming to the “end” of my first UDPP… very helpful! :)

Thank you! I’m going to buy one of each of the UDPP’s. I’m glad you posted this!

Awesome! I love them both, and use them everyday! Sin is even great for those days when I don’t want to get ready all the way – I just put a quick swipe of Sin and I’m good to go!
