Nails: Zoya Adina

Right now, I need to talk to you about a nail polish color that is my favorite color of all time. It’s made by Zoya – a vegan (look Michelle! Vegan!) leader in nail polish. One advertisement that attracts me is that they are safe polishes for expectant mothers and children. Not that this means anything to my personal life at the moment, but I like that feature about them. They have well over 300 colors, most with girl’s names (yep, I have Heather too). They are incredible innovators, and when they eventually come out with a holographic collection (I’m sure it’s only a matter of time), they will have the entire spectrum of finished conquered.

This. is. Adina.

2 coats. It is the most amazing duochrome. It’s a purple base that flashes green, blue, and teal depending on the angle. It’s unreal. My mouth drops open at the sight of this. I have two bottles because I NEED two bottles. I am a duochrome fanatic, and this one makes it to the top of my list. I need to do another swatch and take a million pictures.

*wonderful sigh* Ok you have to see some more pictures. OH! And btw…Zoya also makes the most incredible nail polish remover. No, not all polish removers are built the same. Trust me! I go through a lot :-)

This color is very pretty on you! I only just found out they had a nail polish named after me.

    Heather Reply:

Aw thanks! I love that they have a polish with my name! I really want them to make a Melissa though – then I could get a bottle for my sister and my BFF!

That’s awesome! The color is gorgeous, too (: So, by vegan — does that mean that they don’t test on animals? Or do most nail polishes have some sort of animal product in them?

    Heather Reply:

Um, yeah I guess – absolutely nothing to do with animals. I do not think nail polish has any animal products in them…I believe all of the brushes are synthetic. Most companies do NOT test on animals, but some still do. Maybe “vegan” sounds cooler than “does not test on animals.” :-)

What base and top coat do you use with Zoya? I have had chipping issues and I have read on different blogs that it is probably caused by my base and top coat?

    Heather Reply:

I use my typical base and top coat routine for all of my polishes. I use one coat of Barielle Hydrating Ridge Filler first, then NailTech II and for a topcoat, I use Diamont by Nubar. It’s the only quick drying top coat I’ve found that doesn’t cause shrinkage!
