Look: Shady Lady w/ Guerlain Gems!

Didn’t I tell ya I love this Shady Lady palette?! The colors blend beautifully. The little pop of green helped the eyes come together and not be too dark. But the real star of this look is the lipstick. Guerlain Rouge G lipstick are some of the most glorious and luxurious ones on the market. Gems was limited edition – a beautiful coral pink. So perfect, it doesn’t need any gloss on top. :-)

Meh, not a great look this time. I think I needed liner on the bottom or something… It’s just light, and doesn’t do it for me, but hey, maybe it’s more someone else’s style? :-)

Look: Hawaiian Dress Day @ School with Dior Purple Jazz Club

Please excuse the stupid silly look today…the whole outfit kinda sucks, but I gotta participate to show my school spirit you know?

I don’t like the Dior Jazz club palettes. They’re nothing special and there’s really only 2 shadow colors. Meh, not impressed. I already have a purple liner…and the “topcoat” is lame! I’m gonna try to take them back. What do you think (silly outfit aside)? The lip combo though…wowie! TDF! Sparkle for days :-) Made me stare at my lips all the way to school LOL!

Look: Awesome Frosted Lips w/ Blue Eyes

Before I move on to the cosmetics of this post, I have to give a shout out to my girls: Marie & Christie! My husband and I went up to Santa Barbara this weekend to visit our friends Taylor and Marie. We also met up with my husband’s college roommate Eric, and his fiancée Christie! This was my first time meeting Christie, and the first thing she asked me was what look I was wearing (to be posted soon), then she said she was a big fan of my blog and was even sporting the Honey Love look! OMG I was soooooo flattered! It was just neat! So I gotta say HI! and thanks for reading my blog! Marie reads too, and was telling me about how several of her coworkers do too – and I was just so surprised, because I don’t know who reads/looks unless they leave a comment. So here’s a shout-out to Marie’s friends and coworkers at the iMac store (not to be confused with the MAC store lol)!

Ok…on to the makeup…

I’m a huge fan of frosted lip colors. It’s hard finding good ones though, so I’m highly impressed with MAC’s Madly Creative lipstick which came out with Colour Craft. As for the Fashion Patch MES quad…meh. It’s ok…not bad enough to take back, but not good enough to rave about either. Stay tuned though…I’ll be raving about some quad’s I’ve discovered (not so new, but I just jumped on the bandwagon) very soon!

Look: My Turquoise Best Look

I adore wearing teals and turquoise. My absolute favorite look I’ve ever done on myself is my Icy Blue Clouds Look. I decided to do something similar for my look for a nice dinner out for my husband’s 27th birthday (Happy Birthday Jason!) I swear, this has to be one of my favorite lip combos too. What do you think? I put this look up on MUA, and mostly got raving comments, but some thought it was over done, too much, or just not their style with so much bold bright color. To each their own, right? :-)

Look: My Cousin’s Wedding

My little cousin Mallory got married in the little town of Abilene, TX. I was in her “House Party” which means pretty much nothing, but I got to walk down the isle with a wrist flower and be special for a night because we’re related, which was really nice. It was a freaking beautiful wedding. Parts of it were simple, and parts of it were exquisite. I was asked to wear a black dress, so this is the makeup I decided to wear with the black dress, evening, 450 people attending wedding. Simple, matte, neutral eyes and dark lips. At first I went with a dark silvery lipstick (Chantecaille’s Luna), but my husband said it looked like it was for a funeral. So I switched to the YSL #41, which I felt was too bright. So thank goodness I brought that black gloss – it was so perfect to darken up the lip color! As my mom said,” Who would’a thunk?!” She even wanted to try some on top of her mauve lipstick! Haha!

Look: For Denny’s Birthday!

Happy Birthday Eve, Denny! Tomorrow is Denny (one of my loyal reader/commenter’s) birthday! She sent me a message asking for a special look just for her, and here is what I decided on :-) For you Denny, nothing but the best! Dior on the eyes, MAC on the cheeks, and Bobbi Brown on the lips. She likes darker colors on lips, so that’s what I went with, while still keeping the look simple and sophisticated (because while birthdays are fun, they still mean you’re getting older!).It’s a berry wine color that still somehow manages to look neutral, but made-up, you know? Oh, and I did a little contouring on the cheeks. I kept the majority of the cheek color to the back (near the hair line) and a little below the cheek bone, then highlighted the top of the cheek bonewith a highlighting color to bring it out. I hope you like it Denny! :-)

Look: 4th of July with Red Lips

It was one of the best 4th of July’s I’ve had in a long time. We went over to our friend’s place around 1pm and stayed until after 1 in the morning! We ate bbq, chips & dip, drank some wine and beer, played poker, hung out at the spa, played Apples to Apples, and watched fireworks. Of course there was also a lot of laughter and good conversation too. Today’s my friend Marie’s birthday, so I gotta give her a shout out – Happy Birthday Marie! Ok now on to what I wore…

It was a toss up between wearing a blue shirt and doing bright blue eyes or wearing a red shirt and doing red lips. I threw both around for a while because I like the red shirt better, but red lips is hard to keep up with all day long! In the end, I decided to go with the shirt that I felt was more flattering, and decided to keep up with the red lips, and it worked! Thank you YSL!

Look: Lips are Buzzin’

I’m in a total pickle…maybe you can help me out. So I went to the MAC counter yesterday to place my Norstrom Anniversary pre-orders, and my favorite MA James talked saw me and brought me over…and talked me into buying a lot of Naked Honey stuff. Now, I had already told myself that I wasn’t going to buy anything until the F&F sale (25% off!). I like most of what I got…so my dilemma is this: do I keep what I got, and just say oh well to the 25% off, or do I return most of it (unused) to a different location and then re-purchase online and get the discount? What should I do? I guess I’m only conflicted because I don’t like to return stuff. I know it counts against them, and I dunno. Thoughts? Advice?

I had to use the lippies…just couldn’t wait, so I won’t be returning those. But to not use my Honey Light Powder…that took a LOT of my willpower!

Look: Gray with Dark Lips

The lips looked great when I looked in the mirror…forgive the close-ups :-) I wore this look on a day when I had to make a really important presentation to the whole faculty! Despite some technical difficulties, it went pretty well. And apparently people think I’m “dressed up” when I wear darker lips. Go figure!
