Look: Pink & Blue

This is a slightly older look that I forgot to post! I think this look is better in concept…the middle looks too gray I think. But the pink on the lid makes the look less bold, and blue tends to be quite bold. It’s a nice combo that didn’t come out looking purple. And oh, how I love frosty pink lips!!! :-)

Look: NARS Essential Eyes Palette

This is a great palette if for no other reason than it has Galapagos and Thunderball :-) LOVE those colors!!! When I told the lady at the NARS counter that I wanted Galapagos, she said she didn’t have it and I must have shown visible signs of disappointment because she immediately said “but wait, I have THIS” and pulled out the Essential palette. Since I didn’t have any of the colors in it already and it had the color I wanted so badly, I thought SCORE! Has that ever happened to you?

I must have run out of space on my camera the day I did this look because there aren’t a lot of pictures…sorry about that.

Look: In the Gallery Quad

I wasn’t sure about this quad when I first got it, but it created a really nice matte look. It’s soft and chic. The shadows looked pink and purple, but it comes out more brown on my lid. It’s so interesting to see how different colors turn out differently on various skin tones. I did a girl’s makeup when I was working at MAC – she was going to be in a beauty pageant – and I started using Satin Taupe. It looked totally purple-ish on her! It was such a cool color, so I had to warm it up with more yellow toned browns. Ok, I digress, but it was interesting!

Look: Pink + Blue…looks Purple?

Well duh, of course pink and blue blended together are going to look purple! Although I was impressed at how each color managed to stand on it’s own and not get completely muddied together. This look is quite bright and fun.

Look: Sorta <3 it…

Meh, not a great look this time. I think I needed liner on the bottom or something… It’s just light, and doesn’t do it for me, but hey, maybe it’s more someone else’s style? :-)

Look: Fresh Cut Palette

Ever since I discovered the MAC holiday palettes, I’ve loved them. I didn’t used to be a palette girl because I make my own, and don’t want to carry around a bunch of little ones. But these are really really good. The quality is above what I would expect from a smaller shadow and the texture is often better than their usual shadows. They’re all new LE colors too, which is great because I’m really tired of them putting perm or repromote colors in their palettes. This and the Graphic Garden palette are part of the Nordstrom Beauty Exclusive release. If you like pinks, this one is worth a look. I really like it :-) What do you think?

Look: Springtime Pink & Green

I need new color combination ideas. I can’t wait for MAC Graphic Garden because those will be fun colors to put together. I was thinking about pairing up pink and green for this look. Not bright like the Barbie look; just soft colors, but that aren’t overly blended and muddy. I couldn’t think of regular e/s colors that I wanted to use for this look, so I went with all pigments.

Look: Chanel Murano Quad for Fall 2009

Yay! I’m so excited that Chanel has finally come out with another beautiful quad! I haven’t been impressed by their quads since they released Beiges de Chanel. This quad is beautiful just to look at, and the colors on the lid do not disappoint. The texture is what you’d expect from Chanel: buttery soft and smooth application. The colors are just as they appear in the quad, though the light blue color is more frosty than I’d expect. It’s a pretty look – not quite blue, not quite teal, but somewhere in between. It’s my new favorite Chanel quad…and I look forward to going through the whole thing :-)

Look: Smoldering Spiced Chocolate

The texture of the shadows in the Spiced Chocolate quad is seriously unparalleled. The colors are so incredibly pigmented too…almost too much, but that’s ok. It’s a very unique set of colors, and I made a descently dark look with it.
