Look: My #1 Favorite

No kidding, I think I’ve worn this exact look like 10 times already! I love it so much. It’s sparkly, duochrome, shiny, bold, and very ME! I have so much makeup, that it is rare for me to do the same look even twice with the same shadows. Sure, I do the same types of gradients or color combos, but rarely with the exact same products. This is my exception. The shadow part is seemingly easy, because it’s basically 2 colors with a highlight. However, foiling loose shadows is challenging for me – especially at the top where I need it to blend out and not have a harsh line. This time, I got it right!

For this look I used:

  • Eyes: NARS Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Primer, MUFE Star Powder #955 (applied wet to lid), Meow Sardonic (applied wet to crease & above crease), Sugarpill Lumi (highlight), MUFE Aqualine 0L (upper lashline), MAC Undercurrent Pearlglide liner (upper lashline over black), Guerlain Loose Eye Kohl #3 Blue (waterline), MAC Haute & Naughty mascara
  • Cheeks: MAC Sun & Moon Mineralize blush
  • Lips: Chanel Glossimer #122

Look: Irredescent Pigments

I ♥ iridescent pigments. Duochrome stuff steals my heart every time. Although MAC pigments are not my favorite type of pigment, I have to admit that they make some amazing, incredible duochromes. I need more!!!! :-)

For this look I used:

  • Eyes: NARS Eyeshadow Primer, MAC Blue-Brown pigment (inner & middle lid), MAC Teal pigment (crease & above crease), MAC Dark Blue Green pigment (crease), MAC White Gold pigment (highlight), MAC Mystery Kohl Power, MAC Opulash
  • Cheeks: Bobbi Brown Nectar Shimmer Brick + MAC Marine Life highlight powder
  • Lips: NARS Luster lipgloss

Look: Anti V-Day?

To make myself clear, I will never be anti V-day (Valentine’s Day). How could I?! It’s my birthday!!! I understand why some people are, but I definitely consider myself lucky…even if I didn’t have a Valentine growing up, I still felt special because it was my birthday. My dad would get me, my sister, and my mom corsages to wear for the day, we’d go out to dinner (my choice), and I would always be my parents’ special Valentine :-) My mom likes to tell the story that I didn’t understand that the class wasn’t having a party on Valentine’s Day for me/my birthday until I was like 6 (whoops! hahaha). Well now that I’m married, I have a Valentine for life, and couldn’t be happier about that.

So now the reason for this title…GlamourDollsEyes is having a contest on Facebook for the best “Anti V-Day” Look. So this is going to be my entry. When I saw this contest, I knew this was the look I needed to enter…it’s really kinda anti-me. Sorta like my alter ego…bright eyes, bold lip, tossed hair, a little sad…a bad-girl kind of look for me. ;-) I do not yet have any Glamourdolleyes eyeshadows, but I am dying to try some!!

For this look I used:

  • Eyes: NARS Smudgeproof Eyeshadow Primer, MAC Painterly PP (base), Sugarpill Buttercupcake (bottom middle of lid), Sugarpill Flamepoint (crease), Sugarpill Love+ (above crease), Sugarpill Poison Plum (outer lid & lower lashline), Sugarpill Dollipop (brow bone & lower lashline), Sugarpill Tako (highlight), MUFE Aqua Eyes 0L liner (upper lashline & waterline), MUFE Smokeylash mascara
  • Cheeks: MAC Briar Rose Beauty Powder Blush
  • Lips: Fyrinnae Meerkat (loose shadow mixed with MAC clear lipglass)

Look: Red Eye

Have you ever tried wearing red eyeshadow? I’m sure your answer is probably no, unless you’re a makeup junkie like me. Red eyeshadow is just not a color that is out on the market really…I think it’s something about the red dye that is typically used not being safe for the delicate eye area. Thank goodness Sugarpill fixed that nonsense!!! This is a red that does not turn pink or orange, nor does it fade. And what to pair better with a bold red eye than black-based maroon pigments that end up looking…black :-)

For this look I used:

  • Eyes: NARS Eyeshadow Primer (primer), Sugarpill Love + (whole lid), Fyrinnae Fyre & Ice (outer & upper lid), MAC Bloodline pigment (crease), Sugarpill Dollipop (above crease), Sugarpill Tako (highlight), Bobbi Brown Black Ink (upper lashline), MAC Smoulder Kohl (waterline), MAC Haute & Naughty mascara
  • Cheeks: MAC Merrily mineralized blush
  • Lips: NARS Scandal lipgloss (lightly), NARS Tripple X lipgloss

I felt so bold and daring, yet confident wearing this look on a random Wednesday at school. You have to be confident when you wear something bold, and then you can pull off anything. No one said anything about it…which either means it did look ok, and typical “Heather”, or they didn’t want to say anything negative, ha! What are your thoughts? Look: Rainbow Eyes for Halloween

Last night Jason and I went to a small gathering with some friends, and we were not going to dress up. We just really don’t like dressing up for Halloween. However, I’ve always wanted to do rainbow eyeshadow just for fun, and since it was Halloween, what better time to get away with wearing it out of the house?! I did this look using nearly all Sugarpill shadows. The lashes were like feathers on my eyes. This look reminds me of those colorful clown wigs or something :-) I enjoyed wearing it for halloween…what better excuse?! What was even more awesome was that several of the girls at the party loved it and complimented me! Awwww :-)

For this look I used:

  • Eyes: NARS Eyeshadow Primer (primer), (from inner corner to outer corner) Red: Sugarpill Love+, Orange: Sugarpill Flamepoint, Yellow: Sugarpill Buttercupcake, Green: Sugarpill Midori & MAC Sassy Grass, Blue: Sugarpill Afterparty & Sugarpill Royal Sugar, Purple: Sugarpill Poison Plum, Sugarpill Dollipop and Tako (highlights), UD 24/7 Zero liner, MAC #42 Lashes, MAC Haute & Naughty mascara
  • Cheeks: MAC Love Joy Mineralized BPB
  • Lips: MAC Heartless Lipstick, MAC Redd lip pencil

Look: Gorgeous Fire Colors

It may be hard to tell from the pictures, but this is one of my edgy(er) looks. The darkest color in there is some red, so maybe it seems more edgy to me because the colors are so bright. This look is really straight up gold/yellow, orange, and red with black liner. The black liner really pulls it together too. I love wearing this look with a yellow shirt. Everything pops. A guy in my credential program even said something to me, like, whoa…your eyes look cool! It was a nice compliment :-) This look gives me a lot of confidence, but it’s not exactly “professional” so I have to be careful when I wear something this exotic :-) But isn’t it just perfect for summer?!

Gorgeous Fire Colors

Gorgeous Fire Colors (6)

I did not write down the exact colors on this look either. I know…I suck. I’m getting back into it I promise. I know I could recreate it again if I wanted though. I am pretty sure I used an SMH gold/yellow color, and for sure SMH has that killer red. MAC doesn’t make a kick ass red like that unfortunately. Something about the red dye causing irritation. Whatever. On my lips I’m gonna say a golden gloss, or at least just a gloss with gold in it. For the upper lash liner, you don’t want to use a pencil – I either used Penultimate liner or Bobbi Brown’s Black Ink liner because both dry and don’t budge. They won’t come off on your upper lid. I have to be very careful with that when I wear lighter lid colors. Oooh I love this look!!! You gotta see some more (many more) pictures below. I have to wear this again soon, and when I do, I’ll document the exact colors if you’d like to know :-)

Look: Pigments Barely Used (great for fall)

This is a great fall look – a type of burnt orangish color, and I love the way it looks. It’s pretty bold. Fall is coming…it’s in the air…can you feel it…? (I can’t yet…it’s too hot lol!)

Pigments Barely Used Look (2)

Pigments Barely Used Look (14)

For this look I used:

  • Eyes: UDPP (primer), Painterly PP (base), Off the Radar Pigment (inner lid), Copperbeam pigment (middle lid), Heritage Rouge (outer lid & crease), Shimmertime Pigment (highlight), Bobbi Brown Black Ink (liner), Plushlash mascara
  • Cheeks: Merrily mineralized blush
  • Lips: YSL Rouge Pur #41 l/s + Honey Bare Tendertone

Look: Fresh Cut Palette

Ever since I discovered the MAC holiday palettes, I’ve loved them. I didn’t used to be a palette girl because I make my own, and don’t want to carry around a bunch of little ones. But these are really really good. The quality is above what I would expect from a smaller shadow and the texture is often better than their usual shadows. They’re all new LE colors too, which is great because I’m really tired of them putting perm or repromote colors in their palettes. This and the Graphic Garden palette are part of the Nordstrom Beauty Exclusive release. If you like pinks, this one is worth a look. I really like it :-) What do you think?

For this look I used:

  • Eyes: UDPP (primer), Painterly PP (base), Fresh Cut Palette, Raven Kohl Power (liner), Plushlash mascara
  • Cheeks: Daft Pink mineralize blush
  • Lips: Pink Karat lusterglass

Look: Smoldering Spiced Chocolate

The texture of the shadows in the Spiced Chocolate quad is seriously unparalleled. The colors are so incredibly pigmented too…almost too much, but that’s ok. It’s a very unique set of colors, and I made a descently dark look with it.

For this look I used:

  • Eyes: UDPPS (primer), Artifact PP (base), Spiced Chocolate quad, Bobbi Brown Chocolate Shimmer Ink (liner), Chanel Exceptionnel mascara
  • Cheeks: Laura Geller Golden Apricot Mineralized blush
  • Lips: NARS Dolce Vita lipgloss

Look: That Summer Glow

This look was for a Memorial Day BBQ at my mother-in-law’s. I went for sunset colors and golden tones in this look. I also started using Sun Rush Lusterdrops – I mix one small drop in with my foundation, then apply over my whole face. So if I seem to look a little shiny, I’m not, it’s the “glow”. :-)

For this look I used:

  • Eyes: UDPPS (primer), Cash Flow PP (base), Bright Future (inner & middle lid), Peppier (middle lid & crease), red side of Danger Zone (upper crease), Bronze (outer “V”), Soft Force (highlight), Blacktrack Fluidline (upper lashline), UD 24/7 Lucky (lower lashline & waterline), Chanel Exceptionnel mascara
  • Cheeks: I mixed some Sun Rush Lusterdrops into my foundation and used Eversun BPB
  • Lips: Sunsational l/s + Gold Rebel lipglass
