Look: Pink Sunset

With the new year comes new clothes! I got this hot pink top that I couldn’t wait to “match” my makeup to! I really liked this look :-) Feel free to leave your thoughts!

For my Pink Sunset Look I used:

  • Eyes: Pink Pearl Pigment with Mixing Medium as a base, Gorgeous Gold (inner lid), Stars N’ Rockets (middle lid), Fab ‘N Flashy (outer lid), Sketch (crease), Beauty Marked (outer corner), and Femme-Fi to highlight. For liner I used: Bobbi Brown Black Mauve Longwear Gel Liner (upper lashline), Feline Kohl Power (waterline), Pink Pearl Pigment (lower lashline), and BE Buxom Lash mascara to finish.
  • Cheeks: Brunette MSF with Blond MSF to highlight
  • Lips: Strawberry Blonde Lipglass

Look: Bronze with a Touch of Teal

At first this look came out a little muddy, so I tapped some teal into the inner corner to pop it out a little and make the look come together. I think it did the trick!

For this look I used:

  • Eyes: Copperized Pigment w/ Mixing Medium as a base, Fiction (inner lid), Mythology (middle lid), Bronze (outer lid), 100 Strokes (crease), Femme-Fi (highlight brow bone), and a sweep of Blue Absinthe (inner lid). MAC Pearlglide liner in Spare Change to line the upper lashline and waterline. Finish with BE Buxom Lash Mascara.
  • Cheeks: Brunette MSF
  • Lips: Marquise D’ lipstick topped with Soft Wave lipglass

Look: Aquas and Blues (Finally, something different!)

Well, my intention was to duplicate this look   from Temptalia  . Mine came out much softer and less intense, which might be good or bad. I used pretty much the exact same colors she did, but maybe waited too long and the colors didn’t “stick” as well. I suppose I could have worked to brighten it up some, but I liked the way it came out overall anyway :-) At least it’s something different than the usual stuff I’ve been doing.

To build these aquas, I used:

  • Eyes: Azreal Blue Pigment w/ Mixing Medium as a base, Tilt on the inner lid, Shimmermoss on the middle lid, Electric Eel on the outer lid, Freshwater in the crease, and Gorgeous Gold to highlight and on the brow bone. I lined the upper lashline with Mystery Kohl Power, the waterline with UD 24/7 eyeliner pencil in Electric. I smudged Gorgeous Gold eyeshadow on the lower lashline and finished with BE Buxom Lash mascara.
  • Cheeks: Enough Said Beauty Powder Blush
  • Lips: Guerlain KissKiss Lipgloss in Fraise a Croquear 821

Look: BBR Smokey Grays

I pretty much used strictly BBR products for this look, and it really came together nicely. At first I was a little bored with the eyes, but later on it grew on me (usually does), and I decided I liked it. It’s a really simple look too, so try it!

For this smokey look I used:

  • Eyes: UDPP as a primer, Greenstroke Paint Pot as a base, Pincurl on the inner lid, Knight on the middle to outer lid, Top Knot on the outer lid and crease, and Femme Fi on the brow bone to highlight. I lined the upper lashline with Penultimate liner, and the waterline with Phone Number eyeliner pencil (also released with BBR, but I still have it from Heatherette in 08), then finished with BE Buxom Lash mascara.
  • Cheeks: Enough Said Beauty Powder Blush with Blond MSF to highlight
  • Lips: Blow Dry lipstick topped with Live & Dye lipglass

More pictures to follow!! I actually liked how these full face ones came out :-) Read the rest of this entry »

BBR is Here!! What I Got…

Brunette, Blond, Redhead (BBR) has been one of my most anticipated and exciting launches since…I dunno when! I’ve been lemming over several of these products, and I’ll admit that I did not anticipate getting as much as I did. Though I’m still a little undecided on a few of the colors. It’s all pretty stuff! Stay tuned for some looks using these products…coming soon!

You ready to see what I got? You sure? There’s a lot of pictures… :-) Read the rest of this entry »

Look: NARS Sephora Exclusive Eyeshadow Palette - Take 2

I used the same NARS Exclusive Eyeshadow Palette as my previous look, but used different colors this time. It’s amazing how different the two looks are, which makes me love the palette even more because I get more than one look for my money! This is the one the MA told me was “brilliant.” What are your thoughts?

What I used:

  • Eyes: UDPP as primer, Delft Paint Pot as a base, NARS Sephora Exclusive Eyeshadow Palette: Himalayas (inner corner and brow highlight), Ondine (middle lid), Night Flight (outer corner and crease), and a wash of MAC Tilt to make it more blue. I used Mystery Kohl Power to line the upper and lower lashline, and BE Buxom Lash mascara.
  • Cheeks: NARS Love Joy blush
  • Lips: NARS Dolce Vita lipgloss

MAC Meets Hello Kitty

I went to Nordstrom today to pick up some of my Brunette, Blond, Redhead collection items, and the MA there was really nice…trying to tell me about the Hello Kitty collection coming out on February 12th. Turns out, I ended up telling HIM more about it! I gotta give a shout out to him though - he was super nice and asking me lots of questions, and even told me that my eyeshadow today was “brilliant!” :-D That’s always so sweet to hear from a MA.

These pictures have been out on the beauty network for a while now, but it occurred to me that my readers probably haven’t seen them yet…so here they are! Anything strike your fancy? Or is it totally not you? Please share!

Kitty Kouture: MAC + Hello Kitty

I love the idea of a MAC Hello Kitty collection. Some of the stuff I can’t wait for (pigments, Beauty Powder Blushes, and a few lippies maybe), some of it I’m not sure about yet (the lip stuff and accessories), and some of it I already know I’m going to pass on (the eyeshadows, nail polish, some of the accessories).

BUT as soon as I saw the picture for the Kitty Kouture collection (launching March 5th), I was sooooo excited! These 3 things I WILL be getting for sure! Woot!

Mystery Powder Compact with Swarovski crystals ($90)

2 Dazzleglasses with Swarovski crystal charms ($28 each)
* Kitty Kouture Sheer pale pink with red and gold pearl
* Dazzlepuss Sheer bright pink with red and blue pearl

MAC giftcards are what I’ll be asking for for my birthday!

Look: NARS Sephora Exclusive Eyeshadow Palette

nars-6-eyeshadow-palette

It’s hard to beat the smooth, velvety texture of NARS eye shadows. Their color payoff is awesome and they blend rather nicely. I tend to use MAC’s 224 brush with them because they’re so pigmented that I don’t want to overdo it. Anyway, so I got this Sephora exclusive palette (on sale now for $45 and for 6 shadows, that’s a good deal). I know there are many more look possibilities, so I’m going to hold off on a full review. But the colors are all really shimmery with a little iridescence. I’m also lovin’ this lipgloss! It’s really smooth, and more sheer than it seems. I was really happy with this overall look :-)

For this look I used:

  • Eyes: UDPP, Bare Study Paint Pot, NARS Sephor Exclusive Eyeshadow Palette: Himalayas (inner corner), Bohemian Gold II (middle lid), Ondine (outer lid), Surabaya II (crease), Kilimanjaro I (brow highlight) and a touch of MAC Star Violet in the crease. I used MAC Kohl Power eyepencil in Raven to line the upper lashline and waterline, and BE Buxom Mascara to finish.
  • Cheeks: NARS Love Joy blush and NARS Albatross blush to highlight
  • Lips: NARS lipgloss in Dolce Vita

Look/Review: Dior Sunset Cafe Eyeshadow Quint

dior-sunset-cafe-quint

I wasn’t so sure about this quint….at first. After I took a look at the look pictures (which don’t even do it proper justice) and a closer look in the mirror, I discovered that I’m in love with it! It’s truly beautiful! The iridescent pearl that’s in the shadows makes the gold sheen stand out in every one of the 5 colors. Recently I’ve fallen hard for neutral looks and lighter eye combinations, which is very unlike me typically. Though some of you might be thinking, “wow that’s still a bold/smokey/not-so-neutral look,” but for me it really is. So this quint was amazing in that it gives me the color and shimmer that I love, but still produces a pretty soft and neutral eye.

To achieve the goldeness of this look, I used…

  • Eyes: Christian Dior 5-Colour Eyeshadow Quint in Sunset Cafe (all 5 colors, center color in crease), UD 24/7 eyeliner pencil in Baked on water and lower lashline, Kohl Power eyeliner pencil in Black Karat on outer/upper lashline, and UD 24/7 eyeliner pencil in Honey on inner/upper lashline, topped with BE Buxom Lash mascara
  • Cheeks: MAC Mineralize Blush in Merrily and Guerlain Terracotta in Indian Bronze
  • Lips: Chanel Lipstick in Perplex topped with Chanel Glossimer in Red Shine (it didn’t turn out as great this time because I talked so much during the day!)
