Look: For the Rehearsal
Posted by Heather | Filed under Cle de Peau, Green, Laura Geller, Looks, MAC, Yellow
Well, this look was done for the rehearsal “day” for my cousin’s wedding. She’s 22 and the wedding was in Abilene, TX. First I went and got my nails done with my mom - I chose a Nubar color (blue duochrome) which is really pretty and I wore a black dress for the wedding, so anything would match. Then we went to one of their family friends’ house for a wine and cheese gathering. It was one of the strangest houses I’ve ever seen…and there was no wine, and not a lot of cheese. Very strange. Anyway, then we headed to the church for the rehearsal and a mexican restaurant called “Amanda’s” (mexican?) for dinner. It was a fun day overall. I wanted to do a look that was indicative of me while not doing anything that people would be shocked with. I dunno if I was able to pull off both (since you never really know what people will say about you), but I really liked it. It came out exactly how I wanted it to, so that always makes me happy!
For this look I used:
- Eyes: UDPPS (primer), Yaby pearl paints (base), Dreammaker (inner lid), Eyepopping (middle lid), Wondergrass (outer lid), Bottle Green (crease), Nylon (highlight), Bobbi Brown Black Ink (upper & lower lashline), UD 24/7 Covet (waterline), Plushlash mascara
- Cheeks: Laura Geller Pink Grapefruit blush
- Lips: Chanel Intuition l/s + Cle de Peau #2 lipgloss

Look: Springtime Pink & Green
Posted by Heather | Filed under Bobbi Brown, Green, Guerlain, Laura Geller, Looks, MAC, Pink
I need new color combination ideas. I can’t wait for MAC Graphic Garden because those will be fun colors to put together. I was thinking about pairing up pink and green for this look. Not bright like the Barbie look; just soft colors, but that aren’t overly blended and muddy. I couldn’t think of regular e/s colors that I wanted to use for this look, so I went with all pigments.
For this look I used:
- Eyes: UDPPS (primer), Fresco Rose PP (base), Apricot Pink Pigment (all over lid up to crease), Golder’s Green Pigment (crease & above crease), Antique Green Pigment (crease), Pink Opal Pigment (highlight), Bobbi Brown Ivy Shimmer Ink (upper lashline), Jealous Kohl Power (waterline), Chanel Exceptionnel mascara
- Cheeks: Laura Geller Pink Grapefruit mineralized blush + Bobbi Brown Pink Platinum Shimmer Brick
- Lips: Guerlain Candy Shine l/s + YSL Golden Gloss #10

Look: Silver on Black
Posted by Heather | Filed under Black, Bobbi Brown, Laura Geller, Looks, MAC, Silver, Smokey
I absolutely adore looking at Padmita’s looks. I don’t know if it’s because of her gorgeous light blue eyes, but she wears white liner on the waterline like no other! I envy her skills, her eye color, her creativeness, and her great camera (which takes really nice shots). So I went for the white waterline, but on me I think it looks kinda scary. Maybe I’m just not used to it? What’s your take?
For this look I used:
- Eyes: UDPPS (primer), Blackground PP (base), black side of Danger Zone (outer lid & crease), Sweet Sienna Pigment (middle lid), Platinum Pigment (inner lid & corner), Pink Opal Pigment (highlight), Bobbi Brown Black Ink (upper & lower lashline), UD 24/7 Dime (inner corner liner), Enchanting (waterline), Chanel Exceptionnel mascara
- Cheeks: Margin + Larua Geller Pink Grapefruit + Blonde MSF
- Lips: Bobbi Brown Heather Mauve l/s + Chanel Aqualumier

We celebrated Father’s day with my husband’s family a day early. It was a sushi buffet which I love, but man do I get stuffed! It was easily the only meal I ate that day (and all I needed!). Too much good food!! :-)

Look: Another Laura Geller Favorite
Posted by Heather | Filed under Blue, Cle de Peau, Laura Geller, Looks, MAC
The only thing that sucks for me when it comes to mineral eyeshadow (MES) is just that…the mess they make! There’s a lot of fall out, but as long as you can maneuver around that, it’s worth it. Yeah, so I used the same shadow for the inside and the middle - since it’s marble swirled together, there are lighter spots and darker spots. I used the lighter baby/silver blue for the inner lid, and the darker navy for the middle.
For this look I used:
- Eyes: UDPPS (primer), Bare Study PP (base), Laura Geller Blue Heaven MES (inner & middle lid), Contrast (outer lid & crease), Enchanting MES (highlight), Bobbi Brown Sapphire Shimmer Ink (liner), Chanel Exceptionnel mascara
- Cheeks: Laura Geller Sunswept Mineralized blush
- Lips: Clé de Peau #13 lipstick + Clé de Peau #2 lipgloss

Look: I <3 Laura Geller
Posted by Heather | Filed under Blushes/Shimmers, Bronze, Cle de Peau, Green, Laura Geller, Looks, MAC, Smokey
There was no reason for me to actually do any makeup on this day, since we were just making the long drive home from Vegas, but I felt like it :-) We went to Sephora next to the Venetian because my friend Rachel had a gift certificate, and she wanted some help picking out shadows (duh, my specialty)! She ended up getting the Laura Mercier Sahara Sun Eye Mosaic (great choice…and surprisingly one I don’t have…yet).
ANYway, since I bowled so badly (which bummed me out), my fantastic husband told me he’d buy me some makeup from Sephora! OMG - this happens like once a year when he volunteers to buy me makeup! Soooooo sweet (and it totally turned my mood around…can you say bonus points?)! So I bought 3 new Laura Geller baked mineral shadows and two more of her mineral baked blushes. If you’ve never tried anything by Laura Geller, you seriously need to. Have you noticed lately that I’ve been using her Pink Grapefruit blush like all the time?! That’s because I’m completely in love with it…it seriously might be my new HG, and I never would have seen that coming! It gives me the perfect color, perfect sheen, not to mention great application and staying power. I highly recommend it, but beware if you have allergies because the first ingredients are talc and mineral oils. But for me, it’s the cat’s meow ;-)
For this look I used:
- Eyes: UDPPS (primer), Rubenesque PP (base), All That Glitters (inner lid), Laura Geller Devil’s Food (middle lid), Laura Geller Mint (outer lid & crease), Solar White (highlight), YSL green liquid liner (upper lashline), Bobbi Brown Ivy Shimmer Ink (waterline), Chanel Exceptionnel mascara
- Cheeks: Laura Geller Sunswept Mineralized cheek color
- Lips: Clé de Peau Beauté #13 lipstick

Look: Smoldering Spiced Chocolate
Posted by Heather | Filed under Bobbi Brown, Brown, Laura Geller, Looks, MAC, NARS, Orange, Pink, Red/Maroon
The texture of the shadows in the Spiced Chocolate quad is seriously unparalleled. The colors are so incredibly pigmented too…almost too much, but that’s ok. It’s a very unique set of colors, and I made a descently dark look with it.
For this look I used:
- Eyes: UDPPS (primer), Artifact PP (base), Spiced Chocolate quad, Bobbi Brown Chocolate Shimmer Ink (liner), Chanel Exceptionnel mascara
- Cheeks: Laura Geller Golden Apricot Mineralized blush
- Lips: NARS Dolce Vita lipgloss

Look: Lips are Buzzin’
Posted by Heather | Filed under Bronze, Gold, Green, Laura Geller, Lips, Looks, MAC
I’m in a total pickle…maybe you can help me out. So I went to the MAC counter yesterday to place my Norstrom Anniversary pre-orders, and my favorite MA James talked saw me and brought me over…and talked me into buying a lot of Naked Honey stuff. Now, I had already told myself that I wasn’t going to buy anything until the F&F sale (25% off!). I like most of what I got…so my dilemma is this: do I keep what I got, and just say oh well to the 25% off, or do I return most of it (unused) to a different location and then re-purchase online and get the discount? What should I do? I guess I’m only conflicted because I don’t like to return stuff. I know it counts against them, and I dunno. Thoughts? Advice?
I had to use the lippies…just couldn’t wait, so I won’t be returning those. But to not use my Honey Light Powder…that took a LOT of my willpower!
For this look I used:
- Eyes: UDPPS (primer), Cash Flow PP (base), Larua Geller Devil’s Food (outer lid & crease), Laura Geller Mint (middle lid), light side of Heat Element MES (inner lid & highlight), Bobbi Brown Black Ink (liner), UD 24/7 Zero +Carbon+UD24/7 Zero (waterline), Chanel Exceptionnel mascara
- Cheeks: Springsheen blush + Refined MSF
- Lips: Buzz lipglass
