Look: Lots of Mineral Shadows!

I’ve been a little lazy in getting out my normal shadows, and more into getting out what I haven’t touched in a LOOONG time (or ever!). I’m enjoying using the Metal X shadows as bases too. I really don’t like this look that much though. None of my pictures seemed to come out right. None of them have lately actually…ah well.
For this look I used:
- Eyes: UDPPS (primer), Metal X shadows as bases: Virgin Silver (inner lid), 6th Sin (middle lid), Guilded Ash (outer lid), silver side of Polar Opposites MES (inner lid), Laura Geller Spun Sugar MES (middle lid), Gallery Gal MES (outer lid), gray side of Word-of-Mouth MES (crease), Bright Side MES (highlight), Shade Fluidline (liner), Chanel Exceptionnel mascara
- Cheeks: Laura Geller Pink Grapefruit Mineralized blush
- Lips: Chanel Glow Glossimer

Look: Dark Green Warm Eyes Palette

I’ve really loved the Holiday ’08 palettes from MAC. The lips and eyes were stellar! So here’s another look using the Warm Eyes Palette with the dark green as the all-over-lid color.
For this look I used:
- Eyes: UDPP (base), Greenstroke (base), Grand Entrance (all over lid), Warm Suede (inner lid), Gentle Heat (above crease), Real Drama (crease), Sweet Joy (highlight), Feline Kohl Power (liner), Chanel Exceptionnel mascara
- Cheeks: Bobbi Brown Bahama Brown Shimmer Blush + Dior Copper Diamond Shimmer
- Lips: Guerlain Rouge G lipstick No. 3 and No. 47

Look: Pink, Purple, & Green

Going for some muted pink, purple, and green for this look. Didn’t want it to come out OTT or anything, so the colors aren’t very bright. Ruth said “Oh…the colors of a pigeon.” WTH? Somehow I don’t think that was a compliment, but it made me laugh :-)

Look: Silver Smokey with Some Color

This is the look I used for my first tutorial. What I discovered is that it’s difficult to do a tutorial without deciding exactly what colors I wanted to use and without having a close-up mirror. It ended up being 25 minutes! So needless to say, I will have to do some major editing and cutting down. I talk too much lol! Also, I’ve never used any video editing software before, so we’ll see…it might not be posted for a while, but at least I’m getting started on it and I’m learning!

Look: Holiday ’08 Classic Eyes Palette

Funny story. So my DH (dear husband) and I were cooking dinner last night (using the microwave and the toaster oven lol) when all of a sudden the electricity in only the kitchen went out. No problem - I went to the circuit breaker and flipped some switches… well something went wrong and none of the lights that were connected to switches in the whole apartment worked! All of the plugs worked still though. So while getting ready with this look, the ONLY light I had was the little light around the mirror…so if this comes out not as good as some of my other looks, I apologize, but it was really hard to see lol :-)

Look: PRO Palette

This look was done using *almost* only colors from my PRO palette - only eyeshadow colors that are available at the MAC PRO stores. The PRO palette doesn’t have any good highlighter though, so I went with Rite of Spring. I wanted to do something really colorful and artistic. I think it came out ok, definitely bright, but ok looking. There were a lot of colors used, so I would put this high on the difficulty level, and it’s very unique, though it somewhat reminds me of the old 2007 Barbie does MAC look with the green and pink, right? Haha, well bright colors make me happy! :-)
For this look I used:

Look: Aqua, Newly Minted, & Kelly for Lynn

My loyal and super sweet reader, Lynn, requested a look using these three colors, so here you are! This is what I’m wearing today! Usually I post looks from about a week ago (gives me time to crop and resize the pictures, etc). These colors together are stellar! However, Newly Minted and Kelly are very very close in hue/darkness, so you can’t see much of a distinction there. This is my hair left to air-dry! I didn’t have time to blow dry it and straighten it, plus it was a lazy Sunday, so I was like eh don’t feel like doin’ my hair.

Look: Purples with Jade

I wore my “Grapes of Math” nerd shirt which is purple, duh. So I needed to do a purples look, but I decided to pair it with some dark green liner. I loved how it looked! Sadly, the full face shots did not come out looking pretty :-( Luckily I was only going bowling that night. The liner really looks blue though, doesn’t it?! I’m trying to think of more color combinations that go well together and match them up - like purple and green or teal and green, or pink and green…hmmm green seems to be my common factor here… :-P The lips came out too bright for my taste…why did I buy that Big Bow color?? I have no idea - just because I sometimes get that need to have everything in a particular collection…like if I leave one out, I won’t feel complete or something. I’m so stupid. Anyone want a once-used Big Bow? :-)

Look: The Non-Blended Colors

I’ve been visiting Makeup Alley a LOT lately and looking at everyones FOTD. I was inspired by one…but I tried to recreate it with this look, and it came out pretty horrible IMO. I don’t like it, but I was already running late so I couldn’t start over. :-( Bummer. Ah well - I feel I should show the days that don’t work too, so here you go!

Look: Going Retro with Aqualine Teal Liner

I’ve been so tired of wearing so many pinks and pink type colors lately, that I was completely bored with this look…until I put the liner on. I used all of the new colors that I picked up from MAC’s Sugarsweet collection, but they were so pale. What is it about that liner that makes everything stand out more?! I seriously get so many compliments when I wear that liner. I think that the liner must just scream at people “LOOK AT ME!! I’M PRETTY!!!” and they get mezmerized and say it out loud or something haha! Anyway, it totally made the look come together for me. I haven’t worn that liner in a loooong time, so it was strange how the brush wasn’t…um…well it was rather stiff and hard to work with - like when you bend a brush and it doesn’t bend back haha! Ah well, it was workable :-)
I’ve started to name my looks after how my friend Ruth (from work) calls them. She will look at my eyes everyday and say “Ooooh, this look is __________.” And that’s where I get some of these names from!! To her, this look was retro, like from the 70’s or something. LOL!
