Nails: Zoya Reese

Yep, as in Witherspoon! Zoya is a brand that gives all (or almost all) of it’s polishes girl names. There’s one named Heather, and I have it, but I don’t care for the color much. Watch I’ll wear it and love it! Ha!

Oh but this beauty I really do love! This is two coats of Zoya Reese. It applied really well! It’s a raspberry pink with some duochrome gold/green shimmer. It’s beautiful. A perfect shade to wear during the summer. It came out in the Reverie collection, which was probably my favorite collection any polish company has ever come out with. Zoya does some great colors with amazing flashes of other tones within. They glow! Now Zoya just needs to come out with a holo collection, and they’ll rule the NP world!

It looks like Zoya nail polish will now be available at Ulta (woohoo!). Also - did you know that October is Breast Cancer Awareness month? Any time is a great time to wear pink, but especially now. I’m a HUGE supporter of BCA after losing my Aunt Sue (and grandmother before I was born…whom I’m named after) to this harmful disease. So sport some pink this month!! See more pictures! Nails: Chanel Paradoxal

Chanel creates a stir every time they release a new LE nail polish. Us nail fanatics practically need stress leave after stalking the release of these little beauties. I heard from another local Nail Boarder (someone who frequents the Nail Board on www.makeupalley.com) that the Macy’s near me had some of these, and I called to put one on hold. Then I rushed over there after work to pick it up. She hadn’t even put the display out yet. Crazy, right? I know.

It’s got an incredible shimmer buried deep within. Unfortunately it shows up more in the bottle than on the nail. It’s still a beautiful plum color. Excuse the tip wear - I think these pics were taken the 2nd or 3rd day of wear. It wore so well. Great application. This was 2 coats.

It’s pretty unique. There isn’t much out there like it. See more pictures!! Read the rest of this entry »

Nails: Lippmann Wicked Game

Here’s a pretty polish for a change. This is a beautiful duochrome from Deborah Lippmann (can be found on www.nordstrom.com). It’s this strange color - like a cross between a silver and lavender color, but it flashes green, teal, and pink. So really, it’s multi-chrome! Yes, it’s pretty sheer; I used 3 coats here. I’ll have to try layering it over something someday. It applied like butter. Seriously, it practically applied itself. There is a pretty strong nail polish smell to it, so don’t do your nails in a small confined space unless you enjoy the fumes!

In the picture below you can catch the pink and teal-green flashes. Wicked Game. I love the name, and I love this polish!

You have yet to behold some of it’s real beauty. Look at more pictures (flash, shade, & sunlight)!!!

Nails: My First Chevron Attempt

And it is admittedly a pretty crap-tastic attempt. In my mind, it looked cooler than it did in real life. I may have to try another combination with the chevron. But the combination of the thick goopy matte polish with the tip wear, and unevenness really irritates me. Sorry guys…this one was a fail.

Nothing else much to say…

And here is where I’d say “see more pictures.” But this time….I won’t ask you to do that. Read the rest of this entry »

Nails: Nubar Malvasia

Oh hello red beauty. You took me by surprise. I had no idea I was going to fall in love with this red. It was so stunning. Nubar had done it again. It’s a cross between a jelly and a creme.

You can see VNL in the pictures, but it wasn’t noticeable in real life.

Pics in the sun, shade, indoors, whatever. It looks good from all angles. This is two coats. See some more pictures! Read the rest of this entry »

Nails: American Apparel L’Esprit

Another beautiful one-coater! American Apparel is more than just a clothing store - they make some of the greatest nail polish out there (in my opinion). This is a lovely lavender lilac color. One coat, and it wore like iron on me! I had to finally take it off after days of wear. Usually I wait until I have a significant chip or two to change my polish color, but this one just held on too long!

This picture above without the flash is the most true to color. It does look purple, not the blue-ish color that appears in the pictures with a flash (below). Just so you are aware, these are the same polish color, but the camera struggles to pick up the correct hue when there’s a flash involved.

Nails: MAC Blue India

A dusty blue beauty. This was released with the Liberty of London collection by MAC. It sold out nearly instantly because it’s really a unique shade, and seemed to have a better formula than previous MAC polishes. It’s an amazing one-coater! One coat! Seriously…that’s just so rare. Here is Blue India.

It even came in a beautiful box! I love unique and pretty packaging :-)

Nails: Zoya Mimi

One day I was going back and forth deciding what nail polish color to wear. So I asked Twitter: “Should I do Zoya Charla or Mimi?” One of the Zoya fairies responded to me: “Well, do you feel like a mermaid or a rock star?” LOL I introduce to you - Zoya Mimi (rockstar!). The perfect jewel-toned purple glittery shimmer. Opaque in two coats. It’s really stunning.

The picture above makes it look more blue, and the picture below is more true to color. There is no mistaking that it is purple. I bright beautiful purple!

Nails: Essie Demure Vixen

This is not your mother’s mauve nail polish. It’s a sophisticated, beautiful shimmery light mauve pink that is flattering on nearly everyone! It’s definitely work appropriate. The subtle shimmer is gorgeous, and the color itself is very lovely. I kept admiring my nails when I wore this color. I believe this was 2 coats.

This is Essie Demure Vixen. It’s relatively new - from Essie’s summer collection. They are still out in stores, and I’ve even contemplated getting a back up. It’s going to be my go-to when I need a nice professional color.

I got some good pictures of this one. Check them out below!! Read the rest of this entry »

Nails: Urban Decay Bruise

This is a long discontinued color. Two coats of beautiful duo-chrome shimmer. Some people say there are dupes, but I beg to differ. Urban Decay Bruise is an eggplant purple base packed with blue/teal shimmer. I had terrible chips the first day, and it didn’t really make it to day 2, but the time that I had to enjoy this mani was well worth it. Seriously, this is so incredibly pretty. It stays in a special drawer with only the MOST special polishes :-)

It’s jam packed with shimmer. All of these pictures are taken in the sun (in the car really).

Several more beautiful pictures await you below! This is a very special polish. It might still be available on the bay of evil if you want to try finding one for yourself. I wish Urban Decay would bring these amazing shimmer polishes. Why are the best polishes discontinued anyway?! Read the rest of this entry »
