Look: For the Rehearsal

Well, this look was done for the rehearsal “day” for my cousin’s wedding. She’s 22 and the wedding was in Abilene, TX. First I went and got my nails done with my mom - I chose a Nubar color (blue duochrome) which is really pretty and I wore a black dress for the wedding, so anything would match. Then we went to one of their family friends’ house for a wine and cheese gathering. It was one of the strangest houses I’ve ever seen…and there was no wine, and not a lot of cheese. Very strange. Anyway, then we headed to the church for the rehearsal and a mexican restaurant called “Amanda’s” (mexican?) for dinner. It was a fun day overall. I wanted to do a look that was indicative of me while not doing anything that people would be shocked with. I dunno if I was able to pull off both (since you never really know what people will say about you), but I really liked it. It came out exactly how I wanted it to, so that always makes me happy!

Look: Yellow & Teal/Green

Look: That Summer Glow

This look was for a Memorial Day BBQ at my mother-in-law’s. I went for sunset colors and golden tones in this look. I also started using Sun Rush Lusterdrops - I mix one small drop in with my foundation, then apply over my whole face. So if I seem to look a little shiny, I’m not, it’s the “glow”. :-)
For this look I used:

- Cheeks: I mixed some Sun Rush Lusterdrops into my foundation and used Eversun BPB

Look: Gold and Black Smokey Hawaiian

For my last day in Kauai, Hawaii, I did this smokey gold and black look. Of course you know that I didn’t bring my entire collection with me…no, not even close. I brought a fraction of it and it was so painful to leave some things behind, but I managed. And the other thing about being here…I don’t want to spend over an hour getting ready, which is difficult for me to do especially when my stuff is all over the place in different bags and containers. My family gets on my case when I take too long, and it’s so much more difficult without my close-up mirror and everything. Anyway, I was wearing my favorite black shirt and kakhi pants for a day of shopping, hanging by the pool-side bar, and just walking around. So this is the look I chose to go with it. Aloha!

Look: Yellow, Orange, & Brown

Here’s another combo with these colors. I wore this on the day that we went to hang out with my parents. They live up in the Sacramento area, so I don’t get to see them very often. So when I do, I want to spend as much time with them as possible (we have a good relationship). Soooooo unfortunately that meant that I had no computer time that day, which meant I didn’t get a chance to write down what I wore in this look! Boo! I know :-( I remember some of it - I know I used Cash Flow PP, Orange, and Bright Sunshine…Antiqued maybe and some dark brown…? I used Black Karat Kohl Power as liner. Cheeks was one of the Chanel Tweed Blushes I’m pretty sure and some Chanel Gold Highlight Shimmer Powder… On the lips I had Chanel Gold Shine Glossimer. But it’s been a whole week since I wore this look…and I’m embarrassed to say I do not remember anything else. So sowwwwy!!! :-( I hope you enjoy the pictures anyway!!!

Look: Orange with Brown

One of my dear readers, Denny, requested me to do a look with Orange, so here’s one! It came out ok I think. I got several compliments on it. My husband said my eyes look like a sunset in Hawaii, my friend Ruth called it a surfer’s sunset, my Co-Math Coach said I looked different, but different good….mmmk….and one of the math teachers said I looked like a doll and that I should walk around more to show off my look :-) haha! I don’t know about that, but I do like the way it came together. It’s not a look for spring, but eh, those old rules don’t apply anymore anyway!

Look: Smokey Navy with Pigments

My goal was to use only pigments for this look. I got close - I was too lazy and frustrated with fallout to find a pigment for a highlight color so I grabbed Sugarshot which was sitting right there on my counter. I’m gonna do a black and gold smokey look tomorrow (for my dear reader Rachael who requested it!). I haven’t decided if I’ll use yellow-type gold or more gold (bronze) gold. Hmmmm Black Ore solar bits maybe? Perhaps…you’ll have to wait and see!! :-)

Look: Summerwear Quad

I completely forgot to write down what exactly I wore when I did this look…so I can’t remember the lips (sowwwy!). I know I used this quad though. The look itself was meh anyway. Ah well, here it is! What are your thoughts?

Look: Spring Colored Pastels

Another spring type look…I know…there were several this week. I’ll have some more deep colors coming next week :-) I really liked the way this one turned out though - kinda pastel rainbow like? I think the Auto-de-blu liner is what made it really come together and not look bland.
