Look: Chanel Murano Quad for Fall 2009

Yay! I’m so excited that Chanel has finally come out with another beautiful quad! I haven’t been impressed by their quads since they released Beiges de Chanel. This quad is beautiful just to look at, and the colors on the lid do not disappoint. The texture is what you’d expect from Chanel: buttery soft and smooth application. The colors are just as they appear in the quad, though the light blue color is more frosty than I’d expect. It’s a pretty look - not quite blue, not quite teal, but somewhere in between. It’s my new favorite Chanel quad…and I look forward to going through the whole thing :-)

Look: 4th of July with Red Lips

It was one of the best 4th of July’s I’ve had in a long time. We went over to our friend’s place around 1pm and stayed until after 1 in the morning! We ate bbq, chips & dip, drank some wine and beer, played poker, hung out at the spa, played Apples to Apples, and watched fireworks. Of course there was also a lot of laughter and good conversation too. Today’s my friend Marie’s birthday, so I gotta give her a shout out - Happy Birthday Marie! Ok now on to what I wore…

It was a toss up between wearing a blue shirt and doing bright blue eyes or wearing a red shirt and doing red lips. I threw both around for a while because I like the red shirt better, but red lips is hard to keep up with all day long! In the end, I decided to go with the shirt that I felt was more flattering, and decided to keep up with the red lips, and it worked! Thank you YSL!

So what did you all do makeup-wise for the 4th??

Nails: Patriotic for 4th of July

Here’s my 4th of July Konadicure. It’s pretty simple, and not perfect by any means. I am awe-inspired by some of my favorite nail bloggers: Scrangie, All-Laquered Up, Steph’s Closet, and NailPhile. But I had about 30 min before I wanted to go to bed, and this is what I came up with. Happy 4th of July!!!

I used OPI Bride’s Bouquet as a base color (3 coats for opacity) and Konad Plate m3 with Konad red and blue special polish.

What was your 4th of July manicure/pedicure??

Look: Another James Honey Attempt

This was my favorite of the times I tried to recreate the look James did with the MAC Honey collection. I did the exact same thing he did using the exact same colors. You know, I think this is one of my favorite looks. Like for one of those days when you just don’t know what to pick or what look to do. It might just be my go-to look. For me, it was easy, and I adore the way it comes together.

For this look I used:

  • Eyes: Rubenesque PP (base), Buckwheat (outer lid & crease), Pollinator (above crease), Crème de Miel (inner lid), Nylon (highlight), Smolder Kohl (liner), Smolder+Carbon+Smolder (waterline), Zoomlash mascara
  • Brows: Lingering Pencil
  • Cheeks: Spring Sheen blush + Honey Light Illuminating Pressed Powder
  • Lips: Ravishing Creamsheen l/s + Spiced l/l + She’s a Star l/g

Collection: Lippies!

Wow people, this is a looooong time in coming! I’ve posted my eye products and cheek products, and now finally I have some pictures of the lip products! I didn’t do all of my lipliners, but eh, I’ll do those later. This is not the complete collection of lip stuff. I found some afterward in a purse, on the bathroom counter, on the coffee table…but this is most of it (not including any palettes of course)! If you have questions about any of it, let me know. I will eventually get swatches of all of the eyeshadows I have, but I dunno about the lips…you’ll have to ask for specific ones and I’ll do a lip swatch for you and build it into a look :-)

You have no idea how long it took me to gather all of these up and separate them! There are two bins full - one is for lipsticks and the other for glosses. They were in two big drawers all mixed together, plus like 6 different little makeup bags were full of some more. Getting the MAC lipsticks to stand up like that was the most difficult and challenging. I had to stuff the end of the container so that they’d stay up. Actually, I had to put them all in right side up first, then flip each one over individually, and they stayed. I really love this new set up though. Everything is so easy to find, and I can see all of the colors laid out in front of me. I rediscovered old favorites and have only found one double (of a glossimer). And yes, I pretty much know almost every single one by name…at least enough to identify it’s color family! This is my collection, and I LOVE it! Enjoy! :-)
